Help your neighbours keep warm
Helena's new affordable warmth team are looking for volunteers who will be able to make a real difference to the lives of some of our tenants.
The volunteer project - partly funded by the Scottish Power Energy People Trust - aims to create a small team of volunteers who will go into tenants' homes to give advice on keeping warm and saving money.
The volunteers will be trained and will give advice tailored to tenants' individual circumstances. The project will kick off in January 2010 and aims to see around 24 tenants a week.
Tenants will be given advice on how to use central heating and insulation effectively to keep warm and healthy and the volunteers will also work to ensure that tenants have the latest gas and electricity meters and are on the most suitable tariffs.
