Sweet reminder
Helena Homes' tenant, Caroline Carney is sending our troops a 'sweet' reminder of the support from people back home.
Mrs Carney, who lives in Sandalwood Gardens, Sutton wrote to Thornton's Head Office to ask if they would donate some hard boiled sweets to send to the troops in Afghanistan.
Thorntons wrote back with a kind donation of 30kg of sweets for Mrs Carney to send on to the troops.
The sweets will be sent, along with 80 shoeboxes filled with gifts and letters of support from Helena staff and tenants as well as Allanson Street Primary school.
Mrs Carney said: "I am absolutely delighted at the generosity of Thorntons - I didn't expect so many sweets to be sent. I hope the troops enjoy them, along with the rest of the gifts!"
